My health is bailing on me already: I have a terrible cold. Hopefully it will disappear soon, because tomorrow orientation week starts. I wouldn’t want to miss all the fun :) Luckily I brought enough medicines with me! I’m curious to see who the other exchange students are…
Today we went apartment hunting. It didn’t start of well… We had to ring a guy back today, because he wasn’t in Riga during the weekend. His lack of brains and my lack of patience didn’t mix well. Luckily yesterday I checked the internet again for long term rental apartments and noted some contact details in my little army green notebook (reminds me of Blue’s clues :D)
After a little misunderstanding (the girl on the phone understood we wanted to see an apartment which costed around 1050EUR/month – we are just 2 students you know) and we actually just wanted to meet her to look at other apartments) she took us to an apartment on Stabu Iela. Bingo! This would definitely become our apartment :) We looked at it, left the hostel and signed the contract! We now officially have a place to live in Riga (if you are planning on writing me a letter: Stabu Iela 105-29, Riga, Latvia – postal code is a mystery) Pictures will be made soon… Internet connection should be installed by the end of the week, fingers crossed!
The weather here is bad: rain, rain, rain… The streets are like swimming pools! I’ve learnt a big lesson today: never walk close to the street during heavy rain, you might end up with wet pants :)
That’s it for today! I’m going to read a little and then I’m off to dreamland! I hope I finally sleep well… Ciao x

Wauw je hebt al een appartement! Echt super fantastisch!
Slaap zacht!

Amuseer je daar he!
